IELTS Resource

It is true that material studying is necessary for many IELTS learners. In this post, I will discuss resource on the internet for IELTS preparing.

Undeniably, there are a large number of websites which can help us improve English skills. We will talk about 5 parts: Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing and Vocabulary.

To begin with, writing is a difficult skill for  almost all people who want to take IELTS score. Therefor,
we should focus more on this skill. Some websites which can support us are:

  1. http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/alzsh3/acvocab/awlhighlighter.htm
    1. Checking academic words in a text. You can paste a paragraph which you read from Economist or ScientificAmerican for detecting academic words. It helps your  reading skill. More importantly, you should paste your essay and check how many academic words you have used in your essay. It is very helpful for writing skill.

[IELTS Daily] 11th April, 2013

Long time to see the post of this series! Setting up and maintaining a good habit is always difficult for almost people including me,  of course. I will keep in mind this job, which means updating this series everyday.
Today is not a productive day as yesterdays. I am in a bad state in a long time,  overlooooooong!!! I have lost ability control my time (time management). A number of lessons such as Randy Paush's lecture, Steve Job 's speech and so on which i watched are awesome resources that can help me. However,  nothing happened! Definitely,  I lost totally the power of self-control. That means I must do something to convert myself before too late.
About Ielts,  writing is still invested time and effort,  but it seems too bad. Besides,  speaking is also a skill which makes me frustrated. I think I should do something to perform my plan right without procrastination.
Finally,  learning vocabulary intensively everyday is the highest priority task now. Come on, I can I can I do I do...

[IELTS Daily] Summarization for 3rd April 2013 (03/04/2013)

For summary purpose, I launch a series called 'IELTS Daily' to present my own process of preparing for IELTS Exam. This is the first post, just warm-up.

Today, I spent two hours to learn education vocabulary by reading wikipedia pages. However, it is difficult to obtain whole knowledge that is supplied from the site. In fact, several new words were covered such as 'indoctrinate', 'propagandise' or 'arbitrary' and some words of Law.

In my mind, I always want to practise writing, speaking, listening, reading everyday. Nonetheless, I seem have no idea to organise intelligently the approach to persue. The biggest problem is that I cannot focus totally on the current task. Haizz, too difficult!
